"For many people, including myself, The Queen was an ever-fixed mark in our lives. As the world changed around us and politicians came and went, The Queen was our nation's constant.

  • Blocked drain
    Article: Aug 31, 2022

Over the last couple of weeks, I've reported some full drains in the area (as i have for years) and a neighbour has done so as well, with the drains involved being in Granville Road East, Hillside / Wilberforce Road and Wilberforce Road / Sandgate High Street. All are "full" so that water can't get into them, stopping them being any use whatsoever as a drain.

Older residents facing financial hardship could now be eligible to get more help from Folkestone & Hythe District Council.

The council has been allocated funding by Kent County Council from the Household Support Fund Extension (HSFE), which runs until 30 September 2022.

Unlike the original scheme, the HSFE will focus on energy bills and for people over pensionable age. F&HDC will be directly contacting households that could be eligible.
