Folkestone and Hythe Liberal Democrats keep in touch all year round through Councillors surgeries that are intended to allow local residents the chance to talk to their Councillor face to face with no appointment: just turn up.

We also run regular social events and meetups across the district. Learn more below!

The Royal Norfolk Hotel is on Sandgate High Street - there is free parking from 6pm at Castle Road Car Park in Sandgate which is one minute walk away and often on street parking in Castle Road (behind the hotel) as well.

Registration is open to members of the Liberal Democrats.

Party members who are under 18, full-time students or on benefits are eligible for a discounted concession rate. Please scroll for the appropriate category of registration for you.

Please note that registrations are non-refundable. We do however allow member registrations to be transferred to another member until a week before the Conference. Please email conference@libdems.wales by Friday 28th March to request a transfer.

Members of the general public and those representing organisations can register here.

The Conference Dinner will be taking place on the evening of Saturday 5th April. Tickets for the dinner are available at the very bottom.

We are proud to welcome Kristin Wolfe, a local resident and UK chair of Democrats Abroad, the official Democratic Party arm for the millions of Americans living outside the United States, striving to provide Americans abroad a Democratic voice in US  government and elect Democratic candidates by mobilizing the overseas vote. 

Kristin Wolfe is Democrats Abroad UK’s Chair for 2023-2025. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Kristin votes in the battleground state of Wisconsin. Her passion is preserving U.S. democracy. A business leader and lawyer, she moved to the U.K. in 2007 as part of her long career in the global beer industry. In 2020, she founded a corporate affairs consulting firm advising leading alcohol companies in South Africa.  She holds a General Management certificate from Harvard Business School, a law degree from Marquette University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Wisconsin. Kristin lives in Woking with her husband and three adult children.

Chris Fox is Liberal Democrat Business and Industry Spokesperson in the house of Lords and is also a member of the House of Lords International Agreements Committee which scrutinises international treaties.

Last year he became a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

His political activity includes serving as a councillor in Hounslow in the 1990s and as Liberal Democrats Chief Executive when the Liberal Democrat entered government in 2010. 

Chris was brought up in rural Herefordshire and gained a chemistry degree from Imperial College, London, graduating in 1980. Before becoming a lord in 2014, he had a long career in the petroleum, nuclear, food, defence, automotive and aerospace sectors. He served on the executive committees of two FTSE 100 companies. He is an executive member of the British American Parliamentary Group and a vice President of the German British Chamber of industry and Commerce.

Entrance is £5. There will also probably be a raffle.

Epsom and Ewell - Curry Evening

On Thursday 6th March, Sanjay and

Kamal, (great Helen and Lib Dem supporters) are letting us take over their

entire Dastaan restaurant to enjoy a great night of top class Indian cuisine.

Even

if you haven’t yet visited, you’ve probably heard of this outstanding venue in

our constituency. It’s earned the Michelin BIB Gourmand 2024, is rated top in

the UK by Square Meal, consistently rated 4.7 in Google reviews and has won the

Epsom and Ewell Business Excellence Award in the Food & Hospitality

category. We will enjoy the following fantastic ‘Party’ menu:

the bone, served with our Spicy Chilli Garlic Chutney.

using milk solids and wheat flour, fried and then soaked in sugar syrup.

Forster,

the first Liberal Democrat MP for

Woking.

Between May 2022 and July 2024, Will worked as

Lib Dem Campaign Manager for the South East. He’s been a local Woking councillor since 2009 and

is a former Mayor. He recently became Deputy Leader of Woking Borough Council

where he’s played a leading role tackling the financial crisis left by the

former Conservative council. Will is extremely well qualified to shed some

light on what is really going on behind the local government reorganisation

scene.

·  Elmaz Asan – A TV presenter, journalist and visiting research fellow at Cambridge, Elmaz has published about the historical narratives of Crimea and continues to advocate for justice, freedom and Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

·  Iman Khoulani – After witnessing incomprehensible war and conflict in Syria and Lebanon, Iman and her family were supported by Herts Welcomes Refugees and settled in St Albans in 2017.

·  Jojo Godfrey – Jojo is passionate about supporting vulnerable groups having had experience as an Addiction Psychologist working at The Priory. Jojo holds positions within the Hertfordshire Constabulary Race Inclusion Board, Faith and Culture Enterprise and Active Lifestyles.
