A Christmas Message from the NO2ID Campaign: 25 million peoples data on two CDs can't be wrong

"If you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to fear." How many times have you heard that tired old phrase trotted out by ID card proponents over the past few years ...but how many times in the last month?

Independent polls regularly now show that more people don't want ID cards than do. The 'Data-gate' scandal and subsequent breaches have finally woken the nation to what NO2ID has been saying for years.

More than ever, we must keep the pressure on. The government will not relinquish the ID scheme without a fight.

Ministers are still hell-bent on implementing the 'Transformational Government' agenda - yet more of your personal information, shared by even more people and organisations without your knowledge or consent - and plans for alternative ID infrastructures, e.g. based on concessionary travel schemes, are already well advanced.

We can win. We must win. And with your help, we will.

I wish you and your families a peaceful and ID-free Christmas, and look forward to campaigning with you for freedom, privacy and personal security in 2008.
