A delicious roster of local eateries and talented chefs have signed up to be part of next month’s Folkestone Food Festival.

The event will run across Friday 2 August, Saturday 3 August and Sunday 4 August in the heart of Folkestone town centre – Guildhall Street and Sandgate Road.

Here’s a little taster of what attendees can look forward to:

  • Croquetas from Croqueteria G by chef Gianni Modena
  • Pizza by the slice from Lubens
  • Salad bowls from Yoke
  • Pork belly bites from Panataria
  • Fried chicken wings from Blackmarket
  • Rolled pork burger from The Pullman
  • Vegan plant-based street food from Dr Legumes
  • Pan-asian fusion food from The Radnor Arms
  • Mexican plates from Cabron
  • Satay curry bowls from Market Square
  • Vegan cookie dough from More Tasty Crumbs

These plates will be taster-sized so visitors can sample a variety of dishes and discover more of the fabulous food we have in the district.

The above will be complemented by unique tie-ins with local businesses including food masterclasses, demos, pop up food traders and live music.

  • Picklebacks will be running a cocktail masterclass between 2pm and 3.30pm on each day of the festival. Specific details and how to sign up will be released shortly.
  • Lubens will be offering a sourdough masterclass. Again, specific details of when and how to sign up will be released shortly.
  • Dr Legumes will be holding a pop-up event especially for the festival. Dr Legumes’ Secret Dinner Club experience will run from 6pm to 9pm on the Friday and Saturday (2-3 August). Diners will be able to indulge in a selection of plant based small plates alongside sustainable wines. Spaces are limited to 30 covers per evening. Email drlegumes@gmail.com for more details and to book.
  • Cabron will be running a Tequila masterclass at 2pm on the Saturday. Details of how to book to follow shortly.

The food festival is part of the Folke About Town programme bringing vibrancy to the heart of the town – specifically Sandgate Road and Guildhall Street, mirroring the physical regeneration planned for the wider area through the Folkestone – A Brighter Future project.

This series of test events is being co-produced with businesses and individuals in the community with the aim that successful ones will be sustained into the future.

Later in the month, the Sandgate Sea and Food Festival 2024 takes place on the evening of Saturday 24th August with a free evening fireworks display from Granville Parade beach and then an all day seafront market and stalls, events and entertainment through Sandgate on Sunday the 25th August from 10am.
