Apology from Council Officer on Folkestone Parking Not Enough

Folkestone Herald with "Council: We Got Parking Wrong" headline

The Folkestone Herald continues to report on the Folkestone parking disaster, with the lead story last week being a frank admission from Council Chief Executive Alistair Stewart that the Council have got Folkestone Parking wrong.

The comments come after many local businesses have seen visitor numbers and sales plunge following the introduction of on-street parking charges in Folkestone. In the last few days, the operators of the Leas Left have also been forced to announce a winter closure due to charges on the Lower Sandgate Road.

Lynne Beaumont says:

"It's not enough for a Council officer to admit it was wrong.

"Councillors should take the blame, get the meters removed and do it now."
