Award Winning Journalist Tips Lib Dems to Hold Folkestone West

11 Apr 2013

Award winning Kent political journalist Paul Francis has tipped the Liberal Democrats as likely to hold all its existing seats on Kent County Council - including the Folkestone West seat snatched from the Conservatives in 2009 by Tim Prater.

In his analysis of the prospects for the main parties in the forthcoming Kent County Council elections, Paul Francis sees the likely outcome that the Conservatives will retain control of the County Council but with a "significantly reduced majority", and that the Liberal Democrats are likely to hold its existing seats.

Tim Prater commented:

"Paul Francis is one of the key political commentators in Kent, working as the Political Editor for the Kent Messenger.

"His analysis backs up what local people are telling me: they appreciate the hard work that we have done locally in Folkestone West and at Kent as the only real opposition to the Conservatives on Kent County Council.

"It's clear that only the Liberal Democrats or Conservatives that can win in Folkestone West. If people want to back the current Leader of Shepway Council who brought in the onstreet parking charges across Folkestone and are threatening to extend it across Shepway, then vote Conservative. If you want a County Councillor with a track record of working hard and standing up for the area and give local people a real say in local decisions, vote for the Liberal Democrats."
