Beach Management works during June and July

29 May 2008

Shepway District Council in partnership with The Chunnel Group will be undertaking beach management works between Fisherman's Beach at Hythe and Folkestone Harbour in June and early July 2008.

The beach recycling operation is expected to take up to 3 weeks to complete and will start during the week commencing Monday 9th June 2008.

A quantity of beach material will be recycled using tracked excavators, off road dump trucks and bulldozers to re-profile the beach in a similar manner to the beach management works undertaken in previous years.

In the interest of safety please observe all notices and keep clear of the working areas. Parents and guardians of children should take particular care to warn them about the hazards of the works.

The recycling operations will be restricted to daylight hours from 7.30am to 5pm. Shepway District Council would like to apologise for the noise and disruption these works will cause and assure you that all reasonable measure will be taken to minimise their impact.
