Better Wellbeing for Shepway

6 May 2015

Local Lib Dem Gary Fuller wants to see better access to talking therapies for Shepway residents.

The Liberal Democrats in Government have fought for Mental Health to have parity of esteem with physical health in the NHS. Gary wants to see that success backed up by improved local services, funded from the additional £3.5 billion pounds of funding for Mental Health set out in the Liberal Democrat manifesto.

Commenting, Gary said:

"Mental Health affects everyone. Improved access to talking therapies benefits those who experience mental ill health, reduces time off sick as a result, and is part of breaking down the stigma around mental health that has for too long infected our society.

I want to see improved local services for the people of Shepway, and with the Liberal Democrats in Government I know that this is possible. I hope everyone who cares about Mental Health will vote Lib Dem tomorrow and, if elected to Shepway District Council, I will campaign hard to improve access to talking therapies for Shepway residents."
