Briddock Pushes for Folkestone West Tunnel Redecoration
Morehall Campaigner Darren Briddock has increased the pressure on South Eastern Trains to redecorate the underpass at Folkestone West station by recording a video showing the state of the tunnel and publishing it to the popular YouTube video site. Darren hopes the move will shame South Eastern Trains into a fast renovation of the tunnel.
In the video, which can be seen at www.youtube.com/v/3HuA_nG9sO8 and on the Shepway Liberal Democrats web site at www.shepwaylibdems.org.uk/tv/ Darren shows the state of the tunnel, and describing it as "wet, dark and mouldy".
Darren says:
"I wanted to be able to show South Eastern Trains just how bad the tunnel is. The video seemed an ideal way to get the message across - I've sent it to their MD Charles Horton, so hopefully he will now act."
Last week in a letter to Charles Horton, MD of South Eastern Trains, Darren has requested that the underpass is renovated as soon as possible. In the letter, Darren said:
"The Folkestone West Underpass is a very unpleasant place to be: it's damp, has water running down the walls, peeling paint and mould growing. It's not what the fare paying passengers of Folkestone deserve."
Darren added:
"This underpass is one of the first things many visitors to Folkestone will see of our town, and what an awful impression it must give them."
