Bev Rolfe: campaigning to have the Broadmead Village Pond de-silted

Folkestone Park Ward Lib Dem Councillor, Bev Rolfe, is campaigning to have the Broadmead Village Pond de-silted. However, both Shepway District Council and the Environment Agency are proving hard nuts to crack!

Bev would love to hear from anyone who would like to join her in an attempt to do some manual de-silting in the Autumn of this year. The fish, water fowl and other pond life must be protected if possible. Unfortunately it seems that to continue to enjoy this lovely pond we may have to 'have a go' ourselves.

If you would be interested in helping out one weekend in the Autumn, please telephone Bev on 07767 880612 with your name, address and telephone number.

[UPDATE JULY 2009: This work will now be undertaken by contractors employed by Shepway this Autumn. Volunteers are therefore no longer needed, but thank you to all those who offered.]
