Bus Time Changes Don't Go Far Enough

Local Lib Dem Gary Fuller has welcomed the additional Sunday and Bank Holiday services being introduced by Stagecoach buses between Folkestone, Sandgate and Hythe, but says the changes don't go far enough.

The changes, which will see buses starting earlier and running later in the evening, will be introduced from Sunday May 26th. Commenting, Gary said:

"These changes, whilst improving early morning and late evening services to and from Sandgate Village, don't solve the underlying problem. There are too few bus running through Sandgate on Sundays and Bank Holidays and none of the buses that do run serve Sandgate Valley residents."

"This means that elderly residents, those with young children, or those who cannot afford to run a car who live in Sandgate Valley cannot rely on public transport on a Sunday or Bank Holiday. Stagecoach needs to completely rethink bus services in Sandgate Valley rather than just tinkering with other routes."
