Call for Kent County Council Candidates for May 2025 elections
In May 2025 there will be elections to Kent County Council.
Our county needs change. To deliver it, we need to get more Liberal Democrats elected.
We plan to stand in each of the six divisions on Folkestone and Hythe:
- Folkestone East
- Folkestone West
- Cheriton, Sandgate and Hythe East
- Hythe
- Romney Marsh
- North Downs.
To get more Liberal Democrats elected, we need people to stand as Liberal Democrats. We won't all win this time. But unless we stand, we'll never win at all.
We welcome applications from ANY member of the Liberal Democrats to stand.
Our process is straightforward: we ask you to complete a form to go through an approval process. There will then be a brief interview with a local panel based on that form. That panel will then decide to approve, or not. Approved candidates are then asked to make a firm choice of the seat they want to go for. If there is then one candidate for an available seat, you'll been selected automatically. If more than one, there will be a selection process where Local Party members get to choose the candidate. Simple!
If you are interested in becoming an approved candidate with a view to being selected to stand for the Liberal Democrats in these elections, please complete the approval form and return it to info@fhld.uk or post to 98a Sandgate High Street, Folkestone CT20 3BY by 10th December 2024.
Please: consider standing, and complete the form. One of the best ways you can help the Party - even if you don't want to become a Councillor at this time - is to stand for election and give people a chance to vote Lib Dem.
