Campaigners Fight To Slow Traffic

16 Jan 2003

Following complaints from residents, local Lib Dems have launched a campaign to slow traffic in Dyke Road.

Local campaigner Tina Rowley explained, "We have received a number of complaints about speeding drivers in this area. They are making life dangerous for pedestrians and other road users."

Both Tina and fellow campaigner Tessa Caruana believe that the speeding may be discouraged with traffic calming measures. However for this to happen, it would require a lot of support from local people. Local Lib Dems have now launched a petition calling for traffic calming in the area.

Tessa said, "I would like to urge all local residents to sign our petition to help our campaign to make the road safer."

If you have problems with speeding traffic in your road, please contact Tina or Tessa.
