Chris Took Selected for Ashford Constituency

9 Oct 2006

Chris Took has been reselected as Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Ashford Constituency. Chris fought the general election for the Liberal Democrats in 2005 and increased their vote by more than 1,000.

Speaking after the vote, Chris Took said:

"2005 was just the start. Our recent conference in Brighton established a strong set of policies allowing us to target both the Labour and Tory vote. With the boundary changes Ashford has enormous potential as a seat and I am grateful to the local party for starting the selection process so early."

"We are now fully focused on making significant gains at the local elections in May 2007. There are many local issues that need confronting including increasing recycling targets, dealing with Ashford's growth and pushing for greater openness with council decisions."
