Folkestone Invicta are bidding to achieve a crowd of over 400 for this Saturday's home game against Sittingbourne and are appealing to the people of the town to visit the Fullicks Stadium this Saturday's Kent derby.

The town club are challenging the football public of Folkestone to come and see what all the fuss is about at the Fullicks Stadium. And with only four league defeats all season - just one of them at home - they want the crowd to match the performance of the team out on the pitch.

Director Cliff Egan said:

"We are now 14 points clear at the top of the Ryman South with a game in hand on our nearest rivals and now is the time to introduce more people to the success that is happening at the club this season.

"If we want to become a big player in non-league football we need to attract more people through the gates at the Fullicks Stadium.

"We have a magnificent loyal following of supporters which has seen an increase in the average gate at the Fullicks which has now risen just under 400.

"We as a club are so lucky and appreciative of the supporters who travel away to see the team play. Teams in our league love it when Invicta come to town as, with our following, it almost invariably means they have one of their biggest crowds of the season.

"We just need to get our own gate up over 400. The players love playing in front of big crowds and achieving gates of 400 and above increases the income from a game enormously. We have fixed costs on a matchday and that figure of 400 is the ceiling where our income increases significantly.

"The size of a club is normally gauged on the crowds they attract. We look at our closest rivals Worthing who attract 500-600 a game and we class them as a big club.

"Our players have delivered so far in terms of result this season. And with 13 games to go we believe that eight wins will secure the league title.

"So - starting this Saturday - we need the public of Folkestone to come along and push us over the line. That would really send a message to the football world that we are a big club".
