Community action against crime: innovation fund

3 Aug 2011

The Home Office has announced a new fund to stimulate innovative approaches to tackling community safety problems. They are looking for local groups to come up with creative new solutions to the crime issues that matter to them. The fund will be available to local people and voluntary sector organisations, and are particularly keen for the fund to reach grass roots community activists.

This is an excellent opportunity for voluntary and community sector organisations and individuals to become more involved in partnership working with their local Community Safety Partnerships, and other statutory agencies, co-designing and co-delivering innovative services to promote community safety.

The Innovation Fund is worth £5m in 2011/12, with a further £5m set aside for 2012/13. The fund will be opened for applications in August. Full details, and application forms, will appear on the Community Safety Partnerships section of the Home Office website shortly.
