Coronavirus (COVID-19) update: New requirements for entering France

29 Apr 2020

Below is an update from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency regarding travel to France:

"We are contacting you to update you on entry requirements for those driving to France, following further changes from the French authorities in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Certificate for International Transport Workers

Recent changes meant that all those driving to France, including freight operators, had to complete an International Attestation to confirm that their journey meets the criteria for essential travel. This was designed to curb non-essential travel.

Since then, French authorities have confirmed that, for drivers of vehicles performing international transport of goods by road, a completed Certificate for International Transport Workers will be accepted and they no longer need the International Attestation.

The certificate must be carried in hard copy by the driver and shown, if requested, to French enforcement agencies.

Passengers in either freight vehicles or other vehicles will still need to produce the 'International travel certificate to mainland France'.

Keep up to date with all official government advice on coronavirus (COVID-19) at GOV.UK."
