Dog Mess 4 - Dog Ends 1196: Council Get Litter Police Score WRONG

Litter and Dog Mess
Daniel on his way to school on a fouled path

Local pupil Daniel goes to Highview School each day down a path blighted by dog fouling - as our photo shows.

The same path is used by children going to both Primary and Secondary Academies, Stella Maris and Mundella Schools.

Lynne Beaumont has slammed news that Shepway Council's new litter enforcement scheme has only issued 4 fines for dog fouling and 8 for littering since it started in July.

Fines issued by Shepway Council's litter police:

  • 1196 Cigarette butts
  • 4 Dog fouling
  • 8 Paper litter & chewing gum

Lynne says:

"This is picking on easy targets, not tackling the real issue. Why should children have to pick their way down fouled footpaths? Dog mess MUST be more important."
