Elections 2007: Lib Dems Win Cheriton Town and District Seats

4 May 2007

The Liberal Democrats won all three Folkestone Town and Shepway District seats in the local elections held on 3rd May. Peter Carroll, Peter Gane and Tim Prater were elected as Shepway District Councillors. Peter Gane, Dhan Gurung and Tim Prater were elected as Folkestone Town Councillors.

The Cheriton (Shepway District Council) results in full were:

  • BOOT Geoffrey (Conservatives) 433
  • BOOT Suzie (Conservatives) 432
  • BUSS Trevor John (People First) 366
  • CARROLL Peter Damian (Liberal Democrats) 711 ELECTED
  • CUFLEY Linda Winifred (People First) 328
  • GANE Peter Charles (Liberal Democrats) 725 ELECTED
  • MARSHALL Harvey (Conservatives) 420
  • PRATER Tim (Liberal Democrats) 673 ELECTED
  • STEPHENS Paul Graham (People First Party) 298

34.1% turnout.

The Cheriton (Folkestone Town Council) results in full were:

  • BUSS Trevor John (People First) 554
  • CUFLEY Linda Winifred (People First) 460
  • GANE Peter Charles (Liberal Democrats) 903 ELECTED
  • GURUNG Dhan Bahadur (Liberal Democrats) 817 ELECTED
  • PRATER Tim (Liberal Democrats) 830 ELECTED
  • STEPHENS Paul Graham (People First) 475
