Will the district's toilets be safe now the Conservatives have put the people that tried to close them last year back in power?

Many local residents in Harbour ward are up in arms at the news the people who closed Shepway's toilets last year are back in power - and quite right too says local campaigner Emily Sanger! Former Council Leader Cllr Linda Cufley has been brought back into Shepway's ruling cabinet by the Conservatives.

Cllr Cufley was removed from Council leadership by the Lib Dems last year after several dreadful decisions including attempting to close the toilets. Cllr Cufley and several of her supporters were then expelled from the Lib Dems. Now the Conservatives have put them back in power.

Lib Dem candidate Emily Sanger condemned the move saying:

"Like many local residents, I can't believe this decision.

"The decision taken by Cllr Cufley and her cabinet colleagues to close the toilets was disastrous. I am appalled to see the Tories putting her and her friends back in power."
