Folkestone Freedayz Film Festival

Rediscover the magic of cinema as Freedayz screens family classic movies in unique Folkestone settings. All main screenings are FREE and open to everyone! Bring a blanket, a picnic and your friends and family for a magical evening of entertainment.

The three main outdoor screenings will take place at the Lower Leas Amphitheatre, in Folkestone's beautiful coastal park. The family films are all classified PG, and are suitable for the whole family.   • July 25th - Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade (PG)
  • August 8th - Ghostbusters (PG)
  • August 22nd - Grease (PG)

For younger viewers, there are two classic Saturday-matinee children's movies at the new gallery space on Tontine Street (that used to be JG's Amusements.) These films are classified U and are suitable for all ages. Bring a blanket to sit on.

  • July 31st - Jungle Book (U)
  • August 7th - Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (U)

For older viewers, the Festival will be showing two important international movies at Googies Art Cafe on Rendezvous Street.

  • August 4th - The Class (15) (Award-winning French drama about a tough inner city school)
  • August 11th - No-one Knows about Persian Cats (12) (Award-winning independent comedy-drama about underground music in Iran)
