The 2022 accounts were considered by the executive in January, agreed and filed with the Party as we are required to do. We will return to them for agreement later on the agenda.

The monthly donation reporting has also been made to the Party: we are currently “full compliant”.

The expenditure shown below in 2022 as election, printing and postage were mainly towards campaigning in Sandgate & West Folkestone, Cheriton and Harbour wards.

We have had a very limited fundraising programme. Currently as you can see our key income is from donations, especially regular donations (which currently total almost £300 pm, although £140pm on that is “tithe” from one Councillor).

We have however received good commissions for sales of Lib Dem Draw tickets. Thank you to all that have bought tickets, and for those that haven't yet done so for Christmas 2023, sales are open until the 11th, at https://libdemdraw.org.uk/folkestone-hythe As a new “sponsor” of the draw, we are also hoping for a small additional commission in the New Year for our role in organisation.

There is £1,919.59 in hand. The next scheduled elections (for Kent CC) are in May 2025 but of course there should be a General Election in 2024..

I’d ask the 2022 accounts are noted.

Item 6: Appointment of Independent Examiner for the 2023 Local Party Accounts

I’d recommend we approach Alan Collins Rosell, the Treasurer of Medway Liberal Democrats, to review the 2023 accounts as an external and independent person.
