Folkestone's Big Weekend Out

This weekend there is a huge variety of entertainment in Folkestone - from carnival parades to concert bands and firework displays - and almost all of it is FREE!

  • Saturday 14th July: Charivari Day. The carnival procession sets off from Castle Hill Avenue at 2.30pm and finishes on The Leas (beyond the Bandstand). Then bands play until about 5.30pm, followed by a band competition until about 8pm. The winning band will perform at the Poulpaphone Festival in Boulogne in October.
  • Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th July: Folkestone Harbour Festival - http://folkestone-harbour-festival.blogspot.com Tug of war, Barrel Pulls, Raft Racing, Fancy Dress and sandcastle competitions, bungee jumps, fairground, side stalls, bands and more!
  • Sunday 15th July: Folkestone Harbour Market: Artists, Farmers and Fishermans Market open from 10am to 4pm.
  • Sunday 15th July: Invicta Concert Band at The Leas Bandstand, from 12 noon to 2pm.
  • Sunday 15th July: Elzef - a band coming all the way from Paris to perform at the Amphitheatre, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Turn up early to avoid standing!
  • Sunday 15th July: The Leas Railings Art - a display of art on the railings along The Leas. Organised by the Folkestone Artists Cooperative, and involving artists from across Shepway.
