Folkestone Town Council Need Your Stories and Memories of Folkestone’s Past

19 Aug 2014

To help with the plans for the local history museum at the Town Hall Folkestone Town Council need your memories and stories of the Town Hall and the Folkestone Museum collections.

Do you remember when the Town Hall had court rooms and prison cells? Did you ever perform on stage where the cinema now is? Do you have any special stories or memories of visiting the old Folkestone museum and the collections? Do you remember the Anglo Saxon skeleton, stuffed birds or the Victorian dress?

Your memories and stories will help Folkestone Town Council with the second round of their Heritage Lottery application for just under £2 million pounds to transform the Town Hall into a vibrant local history museum.

The most interesting memory / story of the past will win a £10.00 book voucher and be published in the next Town Crier. If you have any other interesting memories or stories of Folkestone's past but they are not related to the Town Hall or the museum Folkestone Town Council would still like to hear from you.

Send your memories and stories to:
