From Shepway District Council website: Shepway Parking Forum considers disabled bays

5 Jul 2013

The Shepway Parking Forum has recently asked us to look at disabled parking spaces in Sandgate Road.

There are currently 10 spaces - five on each side of the road - situated near the junction of West Terrace.

The Parking Forum has asked us to consider moving eight of the 10 spaces elsewhere in the town - although the Forum was not specific about new locations. Doing this would provide an extra eight general parking spaces and leave two for disabled drivers only.

Before we make any decisions we would like your views. For example, if you are a Blue Badge holder are you happy with the current arrangements, how often do you use your Blue Badge to park in Folkestone and how often do you use the parking spaces in Sandgate Road.

Are the disabled parking spaces in Sandgate Road convenient and in the right place or would they be better spread around the town? If we were to move the eight spaces where should they be moved to?

We would be grateful for your views and comments.
