Generating Power and Money
County Councillor Tim Prater is a member of Kent's Renewable Energy Select Committee. The committee has investigated how Kent can get the best from renewable energy, such as solar panels, for local residents.
Their report will go to Kent County Council before the end of the year. The plan is that Kent gets big benefits from increasing use of renewable energy.
Tim Prater said:
"It's good for the environment for Kent to generate more renewable energy.
"With the new 'feed in tariff' for renewable electricity, households, businesses and families can not only get free electricity, but get paid for producing it. It's a great deal worth investigating: producing clean, cheap electric from solar panels and other sources."
