Gurkha job cuts will have 'long term implications'
The Liberal Democrats' parliamentary candidate for Folkestone and Hythe Lynne Beaumont has condemned the Government's decision to make nearly 250 Gurkha soldiers based in Shorncliffe redundant.
246 soldiers from the Royal Gurkha Rifles will be made redundant as part of the Government's plans to reduce the regular army from 102,000 troops to 82,000 in a bid to save money.
