Lib Dem campaigner Peter Carroll has condemned the postponement of the decision on the future of two wards that care for elderly patients at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Peter Carroll said, "This will just lead to more uncertainty for patients and staff. Many people fear that health bosses have already decided to close the wards, but we shall not be giving up the fight."

Peter Carroll and local Lib Dems have led the campaign against the closure of the wards. Patients, families and staff would all be hit if the closures go ahead.

At a recent Public Meeting on the closures, Peter Carroll again spoke out against the closure. Folkestone MP Michael Howard again failed to attend the meeting.

Local Lib Dem campaigner Emily Sanger said, "Many local people are angry that our town's MP does not seem to be putting much effort into the campaign to save our hospital services. We need an MP who will put local health services first."
