Local Conservative MP Michael Howard is continuing to back airport expansion at Lydd despite huge local opposition.The battle against expansion is growing by the day and is being supported by local Lib Dem Peter Carroll. Thousands of local residents are backing the campaign.

Airport expansion would mean a million more cars every year using already busy local roads.

Thousands of homes could be affected by dozens of noisy jet aircraft taking off and landing twenty four hours a day.

Peter Carroll said, "I will stand alongside local residents in this battle. Airport expansion would do huge damage to life on Romney Marsh."
