In trouble

Conservative leader Michael Howard could lose his parliamentary seat to local Lib Dem Peter Carroll next week. The Conservatives have been rocked by the strength of Peter Carroll's campaign in our area.

With Labour trailing in a very poor third place, Peter Carroll could snatch the seat from the Conservatives in what would be a historic result.

Peter Carroll said, "One thing is for sure, it will be a very close race between Mr Howard and myself. For too long the Conservatives have taken Hythe people for granted - now residents have their chance to choose a new MP who will really stand up for our town."

Latest polls show that more and more people are switching to back Charles Kennedy's party at the election.

Charles Kennedy will himself visit our area next week to back Peter Carroll's campaign to win here.
