Howard's Shameful Voting Record Exposed

30 Jan 2004

Folkestone & Hythe MP Michael Howard's voting record has been exposed as one of the worst in Parliament. He is rated 585th out of 668 MPs.

Figures on the website www.publicwhip.org.uk show that our local MP has not voted on nearly half of the debates held in the House of Commons since the last election.

Local Lib Dem campaigner Peter Carroll commented, "One of the key parts of an MP's job is to be our representative in Parliament. Sadly Mr Howard has performed poorly in this area."

Since 2001 Mr Howard has not voted in hundreds of debates on subjects ranging from Post Offices to crime to asylum.

Peter Carroll added, "Local people deserve better. We need an MP who will really speak up for local people and our area."
