Hythe, Sandgate and Folkestone on Olympic Flame route on 18 July 2012

The Olympic Torch Path for 2012 has been unveiled - and the torch will be passing through Hythe, Sandgate and Folkestone on 18 July 2012.

The full destination list for Day 61 of the torch route is Hastings, Rye, Hamstreet, Ashford, Hythe, Sandgate, Folkestone and Dover - just 9 days before the official opening ceremony on 27th July.

Folkestone West and Sandgate County Councillor says:

"It's great news that Hythe, Sandgate and Folkestone are on the official route. I'm sure there will be many people who want to see the torch passing through our area, and I'm sure we'll give them a great welcome!"

Full details of the exact route through the area will be announced in the coming months.
