It Could be Lonely This Christmas

Christmas is a time where most of us get together with our friends and family to celebrate and enjoy ourselves. Unfortunately for some people, Christmas is a difficult time. It can bring back memories of loved ones who are no longer with us. It can be a time of loneliness and sadness.

My message is not a political one for a change. It is simply to ask us to pause, just for a moment in our busy lives, look around where we live and work and ask ourselves "is there anyone I know or am even vaguely aware of who might be on their own or in a particularly sad frame of mind this year"? Perhaps a neighbour or a colleague at work? If there is then please take a small step toward them and find some time for them. Perhaps with a gift or a Christmas card or even just a little bit more of our company. It could make a big difference to them.
