Helping local people
Peter believes an MP's first job is to stand up for local Constituents

Peter Carroll has achieved much for local people, just imagine how much more he could do as our local MP. Over the last five years, Peter Carroll has helped thousands of local people with their problems.

Issues have varied from tackling speeding traffic, anti-social behaviour and problems with school transport.

Many people approached Peter Carroll after they were unsatisfied with the response they received from local MP Michael Howard.

Peter Carroll said, "If being an MP is about anything, I believe it is about fighting to help people who are struggling with a problem. The politics comes second."

If elected on Thursday Peter is pledging to be our area's first full time MP for many years. Peter has pledged to take no paid directorships or other jobs - unlike current MP Mr Howard. Peter will also hold regular advice surgeries across our area so that local people can get help from their MP.

Standing up for our area

A new Lib Dem MP for Folkestone & Hythe Constituency would be a major boost to several local campaigns running across our area.

These include battles to save services at the Royal Victoria Hospital and to end the disruption caused to local people by Operation Stack. Cllr Peter Smith said, "We need a new MP who will really stand up for local people."
