It's Back! You Decide Who Gets £10k!

14 Oct 2011
Tim Prater

There is £10,000 available from Kent County Council for community groups in Folkestone West & Sandgate on 5th November. Any group can apply for up to £1,000 for projects that benefit the local area - and local residents decide who should get the cash!

Lib Dem Tim Prater is the only County Councillor in Shepway to give local residents the say in where this funding goes.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 28th October. For a grant application form contact County Councillor Tim Prater tim@prater.org.uk or Allison Allan at allison.allan@kent.gov.uk

All local residents are welcome to hear the applicants and VOTE for which groups they want to support! The "You Decide" day this year is on Saturday 5th November at Pent Valley Technology College, Surrenden Road from 1-4pm. No need to RSVP - just turn up at 1pm on the day!

Tim Prater says:

"I'm delighted for the third year running to give local residents the say on which groups they want to support. It's REAL power to the people!

"If your organisation benefits the Folkestone West and Sandgate area and could both benefit from a grant of up to £1000 and can tell people why, please do apply and put your case on 5th November.

"This will be our third year running of giving local people the decision on where funding should go, and previous bidders have said how much they value not just the chance of funding, but to meet other groups in the area and see areas they could help each other through mutual support."
