It's Lynne: Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate for Folkestone and Hythe

Lynne Beaumont

Lynne Beaumont was selected by members as the new Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Folkestone and Hythe at a members meeting in Saltwood on Saturday night.

Lynne Beaumont, leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Shepway District Council, laid out her vision of the campaign in the run up to the General Election and answered a series of questions from the audience before the selection itself. Lynne outlined her experience in campaigning across Folkestone and Hythe, and some of her experiences and thoughts of having lived in the area for over 25 years.

After the meeting, Lynne said:

"i'm so proud to have been selected as the Parliamentary Candidate for Folkestone and Hythe. We now have 4 months to run the campaign of our lives.

"In those months, we will need to give local people a real message of hope. That their vote can be the change. That they can have an MP who cares for our area, and will fight for their area day and night. An MP who will stand up for local people and local causes. An MP who will be the difference. An MP who will stand up for our area in Parliament, not represent Parliament to Folkestone and Hythe.

"I won't be wasting a single moment - and will ask each and every person dedicated to see the Liberal Democrats win here to work with me. Together, we need to be the change, and can make it happen."

The Liberal Democrats are the leading challengers to the Conservatives in Folkestone and Hythe, with Labour support in the area at an all time low.
