Kennedy Visits Shepway
With key local elections just weeks away, Lib Dem Leader Charles Kennedy has visited Shepway. His visit gives local Liberal Democrats a big boost in their bid to end Conservative rule in our area.
Mr Kennedy visited Pent Valley School in Folkestone, talking to staff and pupils. He then went on to meet with local business people before addressing a rally of Lib Dem supporters.
He said, "The people of Shepway need a real change. They have seen years of decline and only the Lib Dems have the vision and leadership to change this."
Mr Kennedy continued, "This in my third visit to Shepway in the last two years and I am delighted with the progress made by Peter Carroll and the local Liberal Democrat team. Their successes in several key local by-elections show that the party is on course for real success in Shepway."
Being Honest With The People
Recent opinion polls have shown the Liberal Democrats rising fast at the expense of Labour.
Mr Kennedy commented, "People are switching to the Liberal Democrats in record numbers. They like our honest approach to the problems of our country and feel let down by a Labour Government that promised much and has delivered little."
