Romney Marsh Campaigner Ted Last is leading Lib Dem calls for Kent County Council to step up responsibility for residential social care locally.
Mont Calm failed an inspection because the care was not up to standard. The cost of improving care would have made it a loss making concern.
Ted would work to make Kent County Council take responsibility for care, providing it as well as paying for it.
Lydd Parish & Town Councillor Ted Last says:
"I'm passionate about the development of continuing care. We can't let older people & vulnerable adults down - they need support and should get it.
"I first bought a home here on the Marsh in 1969, and know how important our community is.
"I want everyone to feel safe in the area, from ensuring the best possible care for those that need it, to making sure that our emergency services have the resources they need to keep us all safe.
"In these days of cutbacks, we must still ensure that all of Shepway has fast, safe emergency services cover."
