Kent Police update December 2012 - Sandgate

PCSOGC

In the past month Kent Police have investigated 2 thefts of garden furniture from the Hospital Hill area, 1 incident of theft from a motor vehicle in Castle Road, 1 incident of theft of building materials in Sandgate High Street, 1 incident of theft of building supplies from Sandgate High Street, 1 incident of burglary in Enbrook Valley and 1 incident of criminal damage to fencing at Saga.

There have been 5 calls regarding livestock running free along Pond Hill Road. Vehicle parking continues to be a problem on Castle Road, Meadowbrook Road and Bybrook Field. Police have also been called to two disturbances after youths tried to gatecrash a private party.

I have been speaking to the Driving Standards Agency regarding complaints from residents about driving instructors causing problems at the junction between Freemantle Road and Digby Road.

Speed checks have been carried out in the ward in conjunction with the Sandgate speed watch team this month. These checks will continue as excess vehicle speed continues to be seen as a problem in the ward.

I attended the Christmas lights switch on Saturday 24th November and spoke to children and adults attending the celebrations.

I would remind dog users that it is an offence if they do not pick up their dog mess. Extra patrols will be carried out in the ward and I have also asked the local civil enforcement team to patrol the beach and seafront area.

Forthcoming Surgeries (held in Sandgate Library):

  • 17th December between 11am and noon
  • 11th January between 11:30 and 12:30
  • 28th January between 11:30 and 12:30
