Good News Stories:

In the past month I have been regularly patrolling the parish on foot and on mountain bike. I have spoken to local residents at the farmers market and the various groups that use the library. I have been dealing with several local disputes in the ward, youths playing football in the road and litter issues.

I have been in contact with local residents regarding dog fowling issues on the sea front, Sandgate High Street, Enbrook Valley and the lower Leas path. Saga Security has been contacted regarding obstructive parking resulting in the owner moving their car. Details concerning several vehicles with out-of-date road tax being displayed have been passed to the DVLA. Members of the public can also report this on their own website. Local residents on Granville Road East have asked for speed checks along Grandville Parade and Sandgate High Street.

Two girls were reported being abusive to local residents outside AB Minimarket. Positive identification was made with the help of CCTV and the informant's description and they have been linked to public order offences and thefts from the Cheriton area.

On Tuesday 24th April 2012 PCSOs Mark Ball and Gary Carr stopped 2 persons in the alleyway between St Martins Road and Tolsford Close Cheriton, who were in the process of conducting a drug deal. The suspected dealer ran off from the officers but was found shortly after and searched for drug paraphernalia. Both persons are well known to local officers.
