Kent Trading Standards Warn on Sandwich Open Golf Tickets Scams
Kent Trading Standards are advising businesses to be wary if they are considering booking corporate hospitality tickets for the British Open Golf Championship in Sandwich 2011, as we have received complaints about companies offering expensive tickets/packages that they are not able to supply/provide.
If you are thinking of booking tickets you should read the company's terms and conditions before entering into a contract, as there may be some not so apparent, extra costs applied. Also, before booking carry out searches on the company you are thinking of using on the internet to see if other businesses have voiced complaints and on Companies House website, if the trader is a limited company: www.companieshouse.co.uk
We also advise you to be aware of counterfeit goods that may be attributed to the Open. As with avoiding any fake goods, stick to those retailers authorised by the organiser and be especially careful with internet sellers. They may show a UK-linked website address but this is no guarantee that they are based in the UK or can be contacted at all.
