Kent Trading Standards Warning: Debt Collector scam email
A Kent based charity has received an email from a debt collector acting on behalf of another business. The company claims to be making a final request for payment before they begin legal proceedings. The email includes a link to make payment arrangements.
The charity does not know either company.
Kent Trading Standards believe this email is a scam. Scammers want bank or credit card details for fraudulent purposes.
They have used a debt collector and threat of legal action to convince the recipient to reply to the email.
