Broken bottles in Kingsnorth Gardens

Just over a year after writing to Shepway District Council to complain about litter and broken glass left in Kingsnorth Gardens, Local Lib Dem Campaigner Gary Fuller has again found the Gardens in a sorry state with broken glass left lying around.

Gary was visiting the gardens on the morning of the 30th of August when he noticed the mess and, fearing that children might be injured picking up the glass, he reported the mess to Shepway District Council's Lifeline which handles out-of-hours emergencies. He was assured that the glass would be cleared as soon as possible.

Commenting, he said:

"It's disappointing that this has happened again barely a year after I was assured that the Gardens were being kept clean. I have to wonder if they are being locked at night and properly monitored for anti-social behaviour.

"It really saddens me that anyone can have so little respect for our town and the safety of young children. I hope anyone who spots mess like this out of normal office hours will report it to Shepway's Lifeline immediately."

Shepway Lifeline can be contacted on (01303) 221888.
