Leas Bandstand & Amphitheatre August Events

Shepway Council have announced the programme for free events from the Leas bandstand in Folkestone and Lower Leas Park Ampitheatre for August 2008.

The bandstand programme includes:

  • Sat 2 Aug (2.30 - 4.30pm) Rattlaz
  • Sun 3 Aug (2.30 - 4.30pm) Birchington Silver Band
  • Sat 9 Aug (2.30 - 4.30pm) Anacrusis Sax
  • Sat 16 Aug (2.30 - 4.30pm) Greenwich Concert Band
  • Sun 17 Aug (2.30 - 4.30pm) Invicta Concert Band
  • Sat 23 Aug (1pm - 2.30pm) East London Brass Band
  • Sat 30 Aug (2.30 - 4.30pm) Shanghai Syncopated Orchestra
  • Sun 31 Aug (2.30 - 4.30pm) Cantium Brass

The Amphitheatre programme includes:

  • Sat 2 Aug at 7pm: Hatstand Opera's 'Golden Moments' (supported by Folkestone Town Council)
  • Sun 3 Aug at 7pm: A Midsummer Night's Dream - production by Hazlitt Theatre and Changeling Theatre Company
  • Thur 7 Aug 12noon to 2pm: Home-Start Shepway's Teddy Bears' Picnic
  • Fri 8 Aug at 7pm: Treasure Island - production by Quantum Theatre
  • Sat 9 Aug at 2.30pm: The Myst (sponsored by Shepway Friends of the Earth)
  • Sun 10 Aug at 2.30pm: Ramshacklicious: The Road to Nowhere
  • Sun 10 Aug at 9pm: Summer Screening - to vote for the film you wish to see, visit: www.shepwayfilmsociety.com
  • Sun 17 Aug at 6pm: Dover Soul
  • Sat 23 Aug from 10am to 5pm: Zig-Zag Art & The Big Gig - organised by Folkestone Artists' Co-operative
  • Sun 24 Aug: Fair Maid of the South East - production by Third Party
