Lib Dem team fight for Cheriton White Lion Redevelopment

A plan from Peter Gane to get the District Council involved in redeveloping the former White Lion site was voted DOWN by Conservative & Independent Councillors.

The motion was backed by Lib Dem District Councillors Peter Gane, Gary Fuller and Tim Prater, but narrowly lost.

Lib Dem Tim Prater said:

“The White Lion site has blighted Cheriton for long enough. “A pro-active Council would do anything it could to get this site back into use.

“If the current Council leadership won’t, I hope the May elections backs Councillors who will. The Lib Dem team certainly will.”

Cheriton Cllr Peter Gane said: “I was shocked when Conservative councillor and Cabinet Member John Collier voted against the proposal.

“How he could vote against a proposal that is so obviously good for his Cheriton voters baffles me.”
