Local Business Update: Sandgate Sea and Food Festival 2024

Fireworks

As you'll know, the Sandgate Sea and Food Festival has been running for 20 years. We're delighted to confirm it will again be held this August Bank Holiday weekend (24th and 25th August).

Due to the ongoing generous support of the Roger de Haan Charitable Trust, there will again be a free seafront fireworks display on the evening of 24th August. The Granville Parade and Seafront market is on Sunday 25th, and there will be entertainment throughout from music stages on Granville Parade and Castle Road Car Park.

There are of course opportunities to discuss sea front stalls for any local business or charity, and sponsorship opportunities to help us make the Festival bigger and better.

But what we MOST want is us all to work together to the maximum number of people to Sandgate for the day and enjoying and visiting the High Street and local businesses. If you've already got a Sandgate business, you want people to come to it, rather than a one day stall on the front, right?

We'd love to see events in the programme in venues up and down Sandgate, from John Dory to the Royal Norfolk and everywhere in between.

You book it, and tell us, and we'll promote it. We'll also keep you up to date on the programme too, so YOU can promote via your channels. The more routes, the better, right?

And it's a Sea and Food Festival: so come up with and tell us your food offers or specials for the weekend, and we'll promote them too. Lets get people visiting events and venues up and down Sandgate throughout the weekend, with different timed events and offers and specials. Shopping, eating, drinking, entertainment: one BIG weekend. It's great for businesses, and great for the event too.

We want the Sea and Food Festival not to be just what is happening on the seafront and Castle Road Car Park, but what is happening throughout Sandgate. Only you can help make that happen!

We'd be happy to answer questions / listen to offers / suggestions / thoughts at any time. Email Chani at clerk@sandgatepc.org.uk or catch Tim at any time, or alternatively come along to our next Sea Festival planning meeting on 1st May at 10am - we'd love to sea you there.

Finally, we have sent this message by email to all the permissioned business contact email addresses we have, but there are many addresses we don't have! If you haven't had a variant of this message by email then please give your details on our website and we can keep in touch by email better in future!

Regards,

Tim Prater
