Local Residents Question Traffic Issues Around Nickolls Quarry Development
In a meeting of the Kent County Council (KCC) local board on Tuesday, Hythe resident Darren Briddock was invited to join the KCC transport team in answer to his question about traffic levels around Nickolls Quarry. The meeting was held in Dymchurch specifically to discuss traffic issues around the proposed Nickolls Quarry development.
Lib Dem campaigner Darren Briddock asked a detailed question about the proposals to deal with the traffic emanating from the Nickolls Quarry development at the junction of Dymchurch Road and Scanlons Bridge Road. Mike Smith, KCC transport manager, commented:
"With detail like that, you should join us on the transport team. You're just the kind of person we need."
Former Hythe Mayor Neil Matthews commented:
"It's clear that local residents understand the implications of the traffic from the Nickolls Quarry site much better than Kent County Council do. I do hope Darren will send in his cv in the morning!"
