Lynne Backs Downs Road Owl Sanctuary

1 Nov 2012

Lynne Beaumont has lent her support to Folkestone Owl Sanctuary, who risk closure due to lack of funds. The Downs Road sanctuary costs over £250 a week to run. Owner Brian Maxted is appealing for donations to sponsor the birds.

Folkestone Owl Sanctuary has been running since 1998 and has a display every week in Folkestone town centre. Since press coverage for the sanctuary a number of local businesses have offered their support, but more help is still needed.

Lynne said:

"Mr Maxted does a great job for these incredible birds. There is no one else in the area doing what he does."

"If just 100 people or businesses would pledge £10 a month to the sanctuary to cover feeding the birds and running costs it would make a massive difference."
