Lynne Beaumont: A strong local voice for Folkestone and Hythe
Lynne Beaumont and the Liberal Democrats will fight for local services
Our local schools are losing millions under the Tories. Our NHS is creaking, with GP services in Folkestone closing their doors, threatened cuts to hospital services in East Kent and lengthening waiting lists.
Lynne backs the Lib Dem plan to save the NHS by putting a penny in the pound on income tax to:
- give the NHS and social care services the cash they need;
- to make waiting times for mental health care match those for physical health care;
- to limit the amount elderly people have to pay for social care.
Lynne will stand up for new investment in our schools and NHS, with the Liberal Democrats pledging a £17 billion infrastructure fund to repair and restore schools and hospitals across England.
Lynne Beaumont is the local choice
Having lived and worked in Folkestone and Hythe for over 30 years, Lynne knows the area and our needs.
Lynne has been a Councillor in Shepway for over 10 years, serving on Shepway District and Folkestone Town Councils. Lynne was a school Governor locally for 12 years, and stood for the area in the 2010 and 2015 General Elections. Lynne has a record of commitment to Folkestone and Hythe and real action for local people.
Lynne Beaumont will fight to stop any damaging Brexit deal
A bad Brexit deal will damage important employers like Eurotunnel and result in endless Operation Stack delays. The Lib Dems believe that any deal negotiated for the UK outside the EU must ensure that trade can continue without customs controls at the border. Port of Dover CEO Tim Waggot says without the right deal on customs Operation Stack could become permanent:
"In 2015 we saw Operation Stack in place for 30-plus days. We will see that every day if we don't get this situation sorted."
On June 8th, Vote for Lynne Beaumont for Folkestone and Hythe.
