M20 Motorway Service Station Opening Delayed until January

17 Dec 2007

The opening of the new Westernhanger Motorway Service Station at junction 11 of the M20 has been delayed until 7th January, according to the Channel Chamber of Commerce.

The facility (part of the "Extra / Gold Star" service area network who also operate services at Blackburn, Tibshelf, Peterborough, Cambridge, Baldock, Winchester and Cullompton) will be the largest service area in the UK, and has been designed as a waiting area for those awaiting channel crossings.

Tenants already signed up include Shell (Petrol station including LPG), World News, KFC, Starbucks, EAT, GameGrid and Muffin Break. An adjacent 80 bedroom hotel will be built in 2008.
